General Policies

GENERAL

Student's parent or guardian must accompany each music lesson or be present if it takes place in the student's home and the student is under 18. If the teacher is late, the additional time needed for the normal lesson duration will be added. If the client is late, no matter the length of time of lateness, the additional time needed for the normal lesson duration may or may not be added, and resolution of this issue is strictly left to the teacher's discretion.

LESSON CANCELLATIONS

Music lessons will be generally forfeited if:

(1) teachers are informed of the lesson cancellation less than 24 hours before the scheduled lesson
(2) the emergency cancellation is announced when teachers are already on their way to the lesson

Exceptions to case (1) can be made in the event of a family or medical emergency. You must contact your teacher at least 3 (three) hours before your lesson to reschedule it (arrange a make-up). However, if your teacher is already traveling to the lesson, even if it is an emergency - the lesson will be forfeited. This happens in case (2). The lesson fee in all two cases will not be refunded, which means that there will be no make-up for forfeited lessons. Cancelled make-ups cannot be made up, regardless of reasons for cancellation. We allow a maximum of 2 (two) legitimate make-up lessons during the Fall, Spring and Summer sessions. Instrumental lessons will be made up during the extra week following the last official week of lessons. You should always contact your teacher to arrange make-ups. Arts & Sciences Unveiled LLC does not resolve these issues.

BILLING/PAYMENTS

We accept payments by check and credit/debit card. Instrumental lessons follow a strict schedule for Fall, Spring and Summer periods. Instrumental lessons must be paid for before the first lesson begins. Pay-as-you-go (non-instrumental) sessions for Music Theory, Music History and Ear Training are billed for at the end of each month, precisely on Monday during the final week of each month. Therefore, pay-as-you-go bills must be paid by Friday of the same week. If you prefer to pay by credit/debit card, we will send you an electronic invoice by email that will enable you to pay us through PayPal directly. It is advised to pay by credit/debit card when sessions need to start immediately. In general, both forms of payment will have the same due date. Payments must be received by the due date. Bounced or invalid checks will incur a $25.00 inconvenience fee. Late payments will incur a $20.00 late fee. We reserve the right to put sessions on hold or stop providing them altogether if any given payment is not received. Unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated by us.

SCHEDULING

If you sign up for instrumental lessons, be sure to check our Schedule page. Once we agree upon the desired number of instrumental sessions and the bill has been paid in full, an appropriate teacher will be assigned for the client. Responsibility lies with the client and the teacher to finalize the schedule of purchased sessions. Arts & Sciences Unveiled LLC does not resolve scheduling issues and conflicts. This includes inappropriately missed sessions and make-ups. Should a particularly complicated issue arise, we will have the teacher explain the situation to us. We will also require each teacher to provide a finalized lesson schedule to us.

CLIENT SATISFACTION

Even though we do not guarantee a specific score (letter or numerical grade), we do provide a student satisfaction guarantee. We always welcome client feedback. If you feel the need to request another teacher, let us know immediately. Your request should be in writing, and should be sent directly to our address. Our teachers are independent contractors who provide their own syllabuses and curriculums of study. However, if you are not satisfied with your teacher, we will be glad to arrange for another teacher at your earliest convenience. We only allow one teacher change request during the course of your association with us. We aim to provide the best possible match for you at the initial session.

REFUND POLICY

The following refund policy holds if you register and pay for instrumental lessons before or during the first official week of lessons:

100% tuition refund is issued if lessons are cancelled during the first official week of lessons
75% tuition refund is issued if lessons are cancelled during the second official week of lessons
50% tuition refund is issued if lessons are cancelled during the third official week of lessons
no tuition refund is issued if lessons are cancelled after the third official week of lessons

Withdrawals must be made in writing, with dates and signatures included if the request is sent by mail. E-mail withdrawal requests are also accepted. All notices (by e-mail and regular mail) must be received by us at least two business days before the next lesson. If you register and pay for instrumental lessons after the first official week of lessons, you will be required to complete them. In this case, you will pay a prorated tuition, and there is no refund for prorated payments. Please check our Schedule page for deadline specifics. If you cancelled your session at least 24 hours before your scheduled session, you must reschedule it. We will not provide refund for missed tutoring sessions under any circumstances. This includes emergencies and family accidents. In all legitimate cases you must reschedule your session at a later time. Also, any missed lessons or make-ups cannot be issued in the form of payment credit or moved as a lesson credit to the next semester. Instrumental lessons will have one extra week available for make-ups. If your teacher fails to show up, a make-up must be scheduled. If your teacher repeatedly fails to show up, we will provide another teacher who will satisfy the remaining sessions as well as provide make-up(s). You may sign up for pay-as-you-go sessions if you need help with Music Theory, Music History and Ear Training. Purchased tutoring sessions may be tailored to best fit your schedule. However, all purchased lessons (instrumental and non-instrumental) will expire in exactly 2 (two) weeks after purchase if the first session is not started, that is, you will have 2 (two) weeks to start your first session until your package purchase expires. All pay-as-you-go (non-instrumental) sessions must not be spaced more than 2 (two) weeks apart. Otherwise, they will be due to expire. There will be no refund for expired instrumental and non-instrumental lessons. This helps us ensure the best quality of service for our clients.

PERFORMANCES

We hold a yearly recital if at least five people sign up to participate. It is not mandatory to participate, but is greatly encouraged. We charge a $25 recital participation fee for an adult. Child attendance is free.
