Our Founder

director Hailed a "little Mozart" by The New York Times in his early youth, David Alaverdian started early career as a classical piano celebrity. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree at the Juilliard School of Music in 2005, majoring in piano performance. There he won some important music prizes, including Contemporary Honors Recital Award and a first prize at Chopin Piano Concerto Competition, the latter giving him a debut performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 with the Juilliard Symphony. David subsequently performed various piano concertos in Long Island areas with similar youth orchestras.

In 2007, he enrolled at Manhattan School of Music, from which he graduated with a Master’s degree in Piano Performance two years later. There he won the first prize at annual Eisenberg-Fried Piano Concerto Competition, which granted him a subsequent performance of Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with the MSM Symphony. David has performed solo and chamber music in many important concert venues such as Merkin Hall, Juilliard Paul Hall, MSM Borden Auditorium, Tilles Center, Steinway Hall, Lincoln Center Library, Alice Tully Hall (Lincoln Center), Peter Sharp Juilliard Theater, Jordan Hall, Miller Hall, Mozarteum, and Trinity Church. His performances were critically acclaimed twice by The New York Times, and were also praised by local New York magazines. His music performances were also highly commended by the German "Die Woche" newspaper.

David has been actively teaching on a private basis throughout his musical studies. He has worked as a piano teacher at many important private music companies of NYC, and participated in numerous piano teacher workshops as well. Teaching and communicating his skills have now become his sole priority. He instills artistry and stage confidence in his music students, and not simply their ability to play or read music. He believes that successful stage presence is a crucial part of music-making because it inspires creativity and boosts personal self-esteem.
